Split! A weekend geek-out for the split wood community

Split! welcomes you to Silverdale for a weekend of community building with your wood wrestling basketry buddies. Bring your hazel, ash, oak, sweet chestnut, willow & any other woody species asking to be split into baskety bits. Bring your ideas, conundrums, experiments and cultural rabbit holes. Bring your buzzing brains and tired bodies to chat, hang out, play around and expand.
We ask you to be part of co-creating this event with suggestions for what you’d like to delve deeper into and ideas for what you’d like to see happen.

There won’t be any child-centred activities so you will be responsible for the safety and wellbeing of your small people. Because of this we haven’t set up any child or family tickets but if you’d like to bring your children we will be happy to have a chat with you about it.

No. The site has a strict no dogs policy. Please do not cause embarrassment by sneaking your pet on site. We will have to ask you to leave.

Parking is limited on site and there’s limited spaces for small campervans on a first-come, first-served basis, you’ll have the option to select this when you book.

Absolutely. Silverdale train station is a 10 minute walk away.

You are welcome to attend without prior split wood experience.
Please respect that this event is not intended as an opportunity to receive free tuition. You may attend sessions led as discussions and skills shares between experienced practitioners to observe and contribute ideas.
If you are looking for a space where you can receive instruction on split wood techniques or basketry assembly, we may be able to provide taster sessions that you can pay to attend and have your learning needs met. This is dependent on other attendees offering sessions.
There will also be information on split wood courses being offered later in the year by professionals attending Split! We welcome you to skill up and join the club.

Fires are allowed on site in allocated fire sites. There are lots of fire sites throughout the camp so please don't start a fire outside of these spaces. No wood must be gathered or cut from the site so please bring your own if you’d like to have a camp fire.
We will have a large fire for us to gather around in the evenings.
Terms and Conditions
Participant cancellation:
If you need to cancel your place please give as much notice as possible.
We need to give final camping numbers and make payment to the venue 7 days before the event. It might not be possible to refund any cancellations after 21st May.
Course cancellation:
I can’t imagine a scenario when we would need to cancel the event but if we do have to cancel it at short notice then all ticket holders will be contacted immediately by email and in the Discord chat and all payments will be refunded in full.
